Blog #1 Types of Writers

Creative:
Creative writing is the aspect of writing that interests me the most. I feel that this is something that I will be involved with in my career and it is what I love to do. You can break creative writers up into several categories, you have your authors, (Novels, fiction, non-fiction, short story, poems, etc...) there are songwriters, play-writes, sitcom writers, comedians, sketch writing, and screenplay writing. I am a professional comedian so most of my writing energy go into my material that I like to preform onstage.

Other brands of writers include those in the legal system stenographers, people who put subpoenas together, even lawyers do a good bit of writing for their profession. Media and newspaper writers, magazine article writers, commercials, business, advertisement, medical. There are an infinite number of fields that writers can be involved in.

I would like to build on my creative writing, in order to do that and become a better writer, I feel that I need to learn as much about every type of writing that I can.

  1. You make a good point here when you mention that there are countless numbers of fields that writers can be involved in -- you certainly see Jack Selzer make that point when he says that rhetoric scholars have too often studied student-writers or "professional writers" (that is, creative writers) and ignored "professionals who write" (that is, people who identify their professional selves as something other than "writer").
